We sat down with Adam where he shared 3 tips for people that are wanting to start an online business right now, but are sceptical of opportunities.
Tip 1.
Ask to see real results. Ask for testimonials of other students’ experiences. If the person or company are as good as they say they are, they will have the results to back up their words.
Are the people offering you the opportunity working from their dog house in their back garden? Or are they actually living the successful life that you want to live yourself? If they have the results that you want, then go for it.
Tip 2.
That brings me on to who not to take advice from. Never take advice from people that aren’t qualified to give you the advice. And this might even be people close to you like friends or family.
These people don’t have the same goals as you so why would you take their opinion or advice?
Let’s say you find a business opportunity, you tell your dad, and he’s a mechanic who can barely even manage internet banking. Your dad tells you not to start anything because he says all online business opportunities are a scam. He’s never had an online business before and all he knows is gearboxes and clutches.
There’s absolutely no reason to take your dad’s advice. You feel obliged to listen to him because he’s your dad and he’s just trying to keep you safe. But he is not you and this is your life, so shouldn’t it be only you that makes the important choices in your life?
Tip 3.
When you find something you want to pursue, always think what could happen, worst case scenario. And if you are OK with the worst case scenario, then you are good.
When I started my business, I thought, “but what if it takes me years to get this thing off the ground. Then I thought, well if it takes me 5 years to build this business to where I want it to be, that still beats working the next 30+ years in a job I’m not even passionate about.” And there it was, decision made, and the worst case scenario never came into it, because I’m 3 years in and have never had this much time and financial freedom in my life!
