Michelle Yeoh is set to star as Scian inverse Laurence O’Fuarain in The Witcher: Blood Origin, Netflix’s prequel to its hit series dependent on the books behind the popular videogame franchise.
Scian is the very last of her nomadic tribe of sword-elves. Nobody can approaches her artistry with the blade, and nobody conveys as much misfortune inside their heart. Whenever a possibility introduces itself to retrieve a stolen sacred sword, taken from her fallen tribe by odious means, she launches herself into a deadly quest that will change the result of the Continent.
The six-section limited series, set in an elven world 1,200 years before the universe of The Witcher, Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time: the creation of the first prototype Witcher and the occasions that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged to become one.
Yeoh joins O’Fuarain, who stars as Fjall. Born into a clan of warriors sworn to ensure a lord, Fjall conveys a profound scar within: the death of a loved one who fell in fight attempting to save him. A scar that will not allow him to settle or bury the hatchet with himself or his general surroundings. As he continued looking for recovery, Fjall will wind up battling close to the most impossible of partners as he cuts a way of retaliation a continent in turmoil.
Declan de Barra will serve as executive producer and showrunner, and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is executive producer. Andrzej Sapkowski will fill in as imaginative specialist on the series. Jason Brown and Sean Daniel from Hivemind and Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko from Platige Films will fill in as executive producer.
Known for her role in Crazy Rich Asians, Yeoh can most as of late be seen in CBS’ Star Trek: Discovery, Joe Carnahan’s Boss Level and Paul Feig’s Last Christmas. She’ll next be seen starring in Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Seven Rings, James Cameron’s Avatar spin-offs, Everything Everywhere All at Once for A24 and Navot Papushado’s Gunpowder Milkshake for StudioCanal.
