France confers the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour on PM Narendra Modi, the absolute best civilian and army honour.
France has conferred the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, the perfect of the country’s civilian and army honours, on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The award was once introduced to Modi by means of President Emmanuel Macron following a personal dinner hosted through the French chief at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Thursday evening. Modi thanked Macron for “this singular honour on behalf of the human beings of India”, the exterior affairs ministry said.

In the past, the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor has been awarded to outstanding leaders and eminent personalities from round the world, together with former South African president Nelson Mandela, former German chancellor Angela Merkel and former UN secretary-general Boutros Boutros-Ghali.
In June, Egypt conferred the Order of the Nile on Modi.
