LG is launching new laptops in its ultra-lightweight LG Gram and LG Gram Pro series ahead of CES 2024. Check out the LG Gram Pro lineup for 2024 if you’re looking for OLED screens with improved graphics. The graphics, rather than the appearance or feel, were the primary distinction between the Pro and regular laptops last year, as our review from the previous year pointed out. Keep an eye out for their more stylish cousin, the LG Gram Style, for a more noticeable difference.
The LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 and the Gram Pro 16 and 17 are available for 2024 (more on those two items later). The Gram Pro 16 comes in two configurations: the standard Wide Quad and the OLED display variant. The dual-purpose device functions as both a laptop and a tablet, and is equipped with a wireless pen that can be charged and a 360-degree adjustable hinge.
NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, and an FHD webcam with facial recognition are installed in each. Similar to the LG Gram, the LG Gram Pro models come with an option between Intel Core Ultra 5 and Intel Core Ultra 7 processors. To speed up AI tasks handled locally on the device, Intel’s AI Boost NPU hardware is integrated into the Pro lineup of processors.
The Intel Core Ultra processors that come with the standard LG Gram series will be available in four different screen sizes: 14, 15, 16, and 17 inches. Since all of them have integrated Full-HD cameras, the smaller models are especially useful for impromptu Zoom calls made while traveling for work. However, the entire lineup weighs between 2.42 and 2.98 pounds, so even the larger ones are still lighter than your lightest pair of dumbbells. With their 2,560 x 1,600 screens, the two biggest ones are better suited for viewing films, browsing the internet for longer periods of time, or editing photos.
The LG Gram Link app, which the company claims will enable file sharing, photo transfers, and screen mirroring between your computer and Android or iOS devices, is included with all new LG Gram models. The app will classify your photos using artificial intelligence (AI) and facilitate image searches with keywords.
